FINN JUHL JAPAN CHAIRS
Stunning pair of F/D 137 Japan chairs designed by Finn Juhl in 1953 for France & Son, Denmark.
Juhl famously took the inspiration for this design from the iconic water gate situated off the coast of Hiroshima. When viewed from the back this visual cue is most evident.
Featuring frames produced from solid teak with brass detailing and brand new upholstery. The fabric chosen is a very attractive mustard colour with subtle grey fleck, this colour and texture is extremely sympathetic to the fabrics produced by France & Son at the time and works beautifully with the colour of the timber.
We currently have a three seater Japan sofa available if you decided to make up a suite. We also a have the associated foot stool designed for this range of furniture available.
A very hard to find design by one of the most important designers of his generation.
France & Son makers marks to the inside frame.
