NIELS MOLLER MODEL 15 BRAZILIAN ROSEWOOD DINING TABLE
Absolutely stunning dining table designed in the late 50’s by Niels Otto Moller and produced by J.L Moller Mobelfabrik, Denmark.
This is an early example produced in the 60’s from outstanding Brazilian rosewood veneers.
The two main leaves of the table separate to reveal a butterfly hinged extension, when locked into place it forms a beautiful lozenge shaped table ideal for seating six. As you would expect from a J.L Moller product the production values are second to none, this is lovely lovely furniture of the highest quality.
The table originally came from a pair of actors who purchased it in the 60’s for their holiday home, I think it received less wear than normal so today it is found in very nice condition. The four model 77 chairs pictured with the table made up the original set but we have also pictured the table with our set of six model 79’s as this also makes a very attractive collection.
A quick note about the extending leaf, this is a few shades darker than the main surface due to it not being exposed to daylight too often. It has taken 60 years for the main surface to attain the beautiful golden amber colour you see today. It would be possible to more or less colour match the entire surface by stripping the old finish off and if the buyer wished to do so we can comply however we highly recommend leaving it its natural colour.
