PAIR OF FINN JUHL MODEL 133 SPADECHAIRS
A gorgeous pair of lounge chairs designed by arguably the most important designer of Danish Modern, Finn Juhl.
Juhls designs are always highly sculptural and incredibly elegant. These model 133 Spadestolen are a very important design as they were the very first chair to be factory made from teak back in 1953.
Featuring a frame produced from solid teak. The very slim ‘sling’ style armrest are achieved by laminated timber with a slight parabolic curve for added strength, this is architect designed furniture at its best.
You sit on a base and backrest of tensile springs held within the frame, this gives an incredibly comfortable seating experience.
We have upholstered with a grey woolen tweed from Bute Fabrics which is very sympathetic to the original fabrics offered at the time.
Early France & Son tags to each chair. We estimate they would have been produced in the late 50’s.
