FINN JUHL MODEL 138 TEAK LOUNGE CHAIR FOR FRANCE & SON

An outstanding Model 138 solid Teak lounge chair designed in the late 50’s by Finn Juhl.

This is one of our own personal favourite chairs and we often think this design has a stronger Japanese aesthetic than the Model 137 Japan Chair.

This design optimises the simple yet sophisticated detailing that is synonymous with Danish Modern, it is visually perfect from every conceivable angle.

This particular example has been upholstered sympathetically with the very finest quality fabrics from Kvadrat. The seating area and backrest retain their internal metal springs which offer excellent support and comfort. Importantly the thickness of the cushions have been kept slim, this is faithful to the original design and allows the floating appearance of the seating area to be appreciated by accentuating the borne and bearing elements of the design.

An early France & Son makers badge to the reverse, this example would have been produced in the late 50’s.

Offered in excellent condition.
