OLE WANSCHER MODEL 120 TEAK ROCKING LOUNGE CHAIR FOR FRANCE & SON

A superb and hard to find teak rocking chair designed by Ole Wanscher for France & Son, Denmark.

An absolute triumph of a design, the slenderness and elegance of the frame is remarkable, with not a line out of place. This has always been one of our favourite chairs to have in stock.

The chair features its original sprung cushions which have been beautifully upholstered with very fine quality wool Marl fabric. The contrasting greys are very sympathetic to the original colours offered by France & Son in the late 50s and early 60s and compliment beautifully with the timber.

Importantly the slenderness of the cushions has been retained and is offered as it would have been when it left the factory. It is our pet hate to see these chairs with big fat overstuffed cushions.

An example of this design is held in the permanent collection of The Museum Of Modern Art in New York. This was also the design France & Son owner Charles France chose to keep at home for his own use.

Offered in excellent condition. The frame has been throughly cleaned and re-polished, no breaks, repairs or any other issues just mild age related wear. This is an earlier France & Son production from the early 60’s.

This would be the perfect reading chair, very comfortable
