PETER HVIDT & ORLA MOLGAARD NIELSEN MODEL 135 BOOMERANG CHAIR FOR FRANCE & SON

Designed by Architects Peter Hvidt & Orla Molgaard Nielsen in 1954 the Boomerang chair is one of the most elegant chair designs of the Mid Century period.

Often looking more Italian than Danish in origin the beautifully crafted frame stands on slim brass plated legs creating a wonderfully minimal yet sophisticated design in keeping with the very best in Danish Modern.

This particular example is an early France & Son production from the late 50’s. It is in excellent condition featuring all of its original seat spring supports. The Brass plated legs have been polished lightly but retain the age related tarnishing and patina you would expect to see. The new cushions have been covered in the finest fabric from Kvadrat, the cushions cut to the original specification and the colour of the fabric chosen sympathetic to the original colours offered at the time. The dark blue looks particularly good against the teak frame.

A particularly nice example of this very hard to find design.
